Pediatric Disorders of Gut Brain Interactions (DGBIs) are complex, multi-factorial GI conditions which require thoughtful multidisciplinary treatment. As experts in the biopsychosocial model, pediatric GI Psychologists are uniquely positioned to interface with GI healthcare teams to partner with patients and families. In this course, attendees will gain knowledge in a range of foundational concepts to bring home to their practice. Given the emphasis on multidisciplinary treatment in DGBIs, the course includes speakers from a range of disciplines so as to offer holistic perspectives on critical topics and recommendations for care coordination. This session focuses on interdisciplinary treatment approaches for pediatric functional constipation and fecal incontinence.
